Let us understand the gravity of the situation here:

1. If someone tomorrow makes a generalizing post regarding how defunct the transport system is in Bengaluru and let’s say post it anonymously on reddit, a non-bailable warrant can be issued against that person if some sycophant civil servant determines that the post is ‘minsinformation’

2. This bill is not about stopping misinformation but controlling what people say and think. Read this book called 1984 by George Orwell.

3. A state government has no constitutional right to legislate on matters which are solely under the purview of Parliament of India. 

4. This is by far the most blatant attack on free speech. Best way to countering misinformation is to publicly call such misinformation out with facts not by throwing people in jail and then conduct investigation.

5. If a BJP ruled state passes a law like this, then RG would be the first one to be sent to jail during any election for what a BJP loyal sycophant civil servant may determine a part of his  speech as misinformation.

It's a good thing.

The President should never have had the power to unilaterally veto state bills anyway. This judgement doesn't even take it away. Just forces the President to do his job and sets a timeframe to do it.

The President permanently stalling state bills is a complete affront to the federal structure. 

If the Union can block any state by having its agent ( the Governor) refer anything to the President (chosen by the Union) and permanently stall bills that have passed the state legislature, there is no federal structure. It's just unitary control at that point.
